Duplex penthouse loft, gut renovation

A duplex penthouse loft in a Tribeca warehouse building, renovated in two phases. The sixth floor came first: a complete gut renovation around the original timber columns and beams, with a new kitchen along a slatted white-oak wall, a brass-trimmed bar, and a bedroom wing behind a floor-to-ceiling slatted pivot door. Two years later we returned for the fifth floor, adding new bedrooms, bathrooms, millwork, and lighting, refinishing every wall, floor, and ceiling, and restoring the existing stair and exposed beams that join the two levels.
